I was born in 1934 in the small seaside village of Marske-by-the sea in Cleveland, North Yorks. Over the years I have had many different jobs – quantity surveyor, lecturer, homoeopath, acupuncturist, guest house and restaurant owner (with my wife Wendy) and sundry others. I have lived in North Yorks, Essex, Norfolk, and Cumbria, and for the last 20 years in the Axarquía in Andalucía.
My main hobbies have been hill and long distance walking, sailing, and some sports. All of these have influenced my writing. All my life I have been an avid reader of all sorts of genres, from minor classics through to modern fiction, and a wide range of nonfiction. Dilema

Do you know the area I write about, the area around Malaga, especially the Axarquia? It's a beautiful and interesting area full of many "characters" both locals and ex-pats. I try to capture the locality, the events (such as fiestas etc) and the people.
