I write in a range of genres: children's, YA, reluctant teen readers, romance under the name Ann Carroll and crime. My first crime novel, Kill or Die was published in 2017, published by Bloodhound Books. They have just published our supernatural thriller, The Bitter End. This is co-authored with my good friend Robert D. Tysall. It's my 31st book and Robert's debut novel.

And sometimes the story comes fairly easily, at other times the writer can really struggle to get the story right. Then there is always re-writes to do as well. I suppose on average it could take about 6 months - but if an editor is waiting for it and there's a deadline, then the author will usually try and work harder and faster! Some of my books have taken a lot longer than 6 months from the initial idea to finally getting it published - years on some occasions.
Thank you for your question.

The perfect Halloween read

My first blog for Goodreads. So hello to anyone who happens to chance upon my ramblings.

I thought I'd tell you a little about The Uninvited. This is a young adult book, published by Astraea Press, just this month - in time for Halloween.
There's a distinct vampire theme to the book which tells the story of Katie who has to stay with her granddad and cousin Vanessa at the old mill house in a quiet Read more of this blog post »
