As a writer, my mission is to help people understand emerging technology and the underlying science. For a time, I wrote science fiction and fantasy stories, with themes of how people interact with nature and technology (I consider technology the mechanical arm of nature: humans create technology, and are part of nature). I'm working on a non-fiction project, a self-help approach to understand all those crazy posts, apparently based on scientific evidence, that populate social media. I blog on understanding science, new technology, and related businesses.

I started out my professional career as a scientist, doing research in cancer biology and genetics. The last two decades I've been in the business of bringing new technologies to people.

Really a 3.5. Good and engaging but the writing, perfectly in the style of a myth, is just not as satisfying a style to me as many others. Having read this book, I feel informed, rather than entertained.

I bought this book because it came up on a list of humour books 'I might like'. It's a series of short stories and amusing in the sort of way comedy that is 90 years old is amusing.

Really a 3.5/5. Some interesting information, I like the general philosophy that our bodies are optimized for a different lifestyle than the one we are now leading. Science seems accurate but didn't go far enough at times. For example, the section ab ...more
