John Anthony Miller writes all things historical—thrillers, mysteries, and romance. He sets his novels in exotic locations spanning all eras of space and time, with complex characters forced to face inner conflicts, fighting demons both real and imagined. Each of his novels is unique: a Medieval epic, four historical mysteries, two Cold-War thrillers, a 1970’s cozy/romance, a Revolutionary War spy novel, and five WWII thrillers, including All That Glitters. He lives in southern New Jersey.

Hi Amy - thanks for the question.
Coming up with ideas is fairly easy, but finding an idea that's interesting enough to justify the research required to support it is a bit harder. Once I have the idea, I normally frame the beginning and ending of the book, then the story becomes what happens in between. That's where the original idea changes. Sometimes characters take on a life of their own, and tend to go in directions different from what I originally planned.(less)

John Miller Hi Barry- I haven't read Underground Railroad but it was recommended to me. Did you enjoy it?
And I'll put "Deep Strike" on my reading list - it's sounds like something I'll really enjoy
