I think people are drawn to memoir because finding out about other people's lives (whether you find them quirky, inspiring, or even boring) teaches us about ourselves and the world in which we live. I may never finish this book. I'm reading, savoring little by little, picking and choosing and digesting each piece. Enormously evocative.
