Growing up in the Bay Area of Northern California, Lorena Bathey attended St. Mary’s College in Moraga graduating with a degree in English. Then she traveled, learned about life, and developed great fodder for a book. Losing her mother to cancer and her own marriage’s demise brought her to find herself. She wrote Happy Beginnings: How I Became My Own Fairy Godmother (www.amazon.com) and found speaking and empowering others was her passion.

Lorena Bathey found after writing her first book that characters were visiting her mind and wouldn't leave. She was introduced to Marissa, Andrea, Lily, Deidre and Beatrice and her first novel, Beatrice Munson, came to life. After finishing that book she was inspired to write more novels and she knew that

But what I am trying to discuss is important. It’s about doubt. Specifically, doubting yourself.

Doubing yourself can be so impactful. It can decide your future. I’ve spent the majority of...

“You have been given a second chance to start your life over. You can't throw this opportunity away. If you do you will be a colossal fool. If you get the chance to do something and don't do it then you'll simply live with regret. That's a worse situation than trying something daring and maybe not succeeding. At least you tried. Isn't that what you want to show your kids?”
Lorena Bathey, Beatrice Munson

“I have everything I thought was important and nothing that really is.

“Dear, you need to know something about love. When you love someone, you know it. When someone loves you, you know it. There is no question, no wondering, and no guessing. Love is felt within you, and if that is not there then it is very obvious.”

Lorena Bathey Here's the next installment of House on Plunkett Street. Go to www.LorenaBBooks.com to see all my books.

While status quo seemed to be the norm for Phoebe, one day without notice things began to shift. First the apartments she lived in decided to go condo and she was going to have to come up with the money to buy it or move. Then her company restructured leaving her future as an employee precariously upon the fence. So there she was in her miniscule cubicle with its fluorescent lighting, staring at Craigslist looking for a reasonably priced apartment. Her vanilla yogurt sat untouched on her desk as she scrolled through the listings of apartments, wondering how these people could ask such exorbitant prices for the cramped and probably dirty spaces they had available. She heard her friend Meghan ambling towards her cubicle. Phoebe knew when Meghan was coming because she walked with definite and precise steps rather like a soldier on parade.
