Top 3 Mistakes Personal Trainers Continue Make
I've dedicated close to half my life to teaching, coaching, or instructing others how to be a better version of themselves. Looking back at the first 3-5 years of my training, I thought I new it all. As the years flew by I realized I knew less and less. It was a humbling experience indeed. Fast forward 15 years of working with many types of individuals, I now know that I made a lot of mistakes. The more I learn the less I know! In fact, it's the students that were my taught me my greatest lessons of making up the teacher I have become. My pregnancies, C-sections, broken bones and torn ACL that took me to the next level of a teacher. I had the opportunity to teach and watch grow, be my best teacher. After all, the best way to be a great teacher is to teach. Your students are your subjects and you get to apply all the techniques you learn from various sources of educational material. Over the years you get to discover what truly does work for the main population. The folks that come in that are not born athletes with body awareness, that may have no injuries are the ones that begin to challenge you. It's always easy coaching someone with no injury and perfect movement patterning. The true challenge is working with the desk jockey that may have arthritis in their knees and hips. They can barely lift their arms over their heads. As a "trainer" or coach, will you do be able to do for them.
The internet trainers out there that focus solely on distant or online coaching programs can be a good thing. But the ones with that don't have an ongoing clientele, should not pose as if they run a successful gym. Hiring a trainer that hasn't touched students on an on-going basis, is like hiring a surgeon that gives presentations about surgery, reads about surgical procedures, but doesn't actually perform surgery. If you ask me, I would rather hire a surgeon that has been performing surgeries on a regular basis with success and a solid track record. As a trainer there is no right or wrong path to go down, just be honest of what you're trying to accomplish. For those who do see real bodies on a daily basis and get to APPLY the learned techniques and see how they stick over a period of time.

Many trainers new to the industry begin researching every program written. Without fully understanding they why behind the entire design, the trainer begins to apply it to their student(s).

How To Stop Letting That Mom Guilt Stop you from showing up for yourself
How many of you moms don’t think twice about signing your kids up for soccer, dance, swim? You get the gist, right
You have no problems shelling out the money and finding the time to make it work. Shuttling your kids back and forth are just part of your priority list.
I totally get this. I have 4 kids myself. It’s VERY easy to put ourselves last.
Because when it comes to us moms, suddenly we don’t have the time to workout. By the end of the day we are wiped beyond belief and can barely function. That’s when we reach for the booze. Then a viscous cycle of depletion and unhealthy habits take over.
The idea of investing any amount of money to ensure proper training, just sounds expensive. We talk ourselves out of it and convince ourselves we aren’t worth it.
Then what happens to us?
We get sick more, have no energy left, feel like complete crap, gain weight and just feel miserable about ourselves. Or we get injured trying to do it half ass on our own!
Here are 5 reason why we need to stop letting GUILT of investing in our health run our lives.
Investing time and money in to your own health and fitness
1. Will save you thousands of dollars in the long run. By not getting sick as much, keeping your health as a priority you can help prevent diseases that will cost your family tons of money and heartache down the road.
2. You will have more energy for your kids and family. By having more energy you will finally be able to let go of resentment and bitterness. You will let re-ignite that flame inside you that sparkles so brightly!
3. Your confidence and self love will increase exponentially. This will help bring all of your relationships to a stronger level, especially your significant other. It will also help you set healthy boundaries so you’re not doing things that don’t sit well with you. Feeling confident really boosts quality of life.
4. PRODUCTIVITY LEVELS SKY ROCKET You will actually get more done and even make more money. Talk to any successful business person. One of the main ways they come up with their million dollar ideas is either during a workout or right after. Your brain will work so much more efficiently. That small investment in yourself can bring an return an investment you never would imagine. This huge to understand to moms and working moms! Who doesn’t want to get more done more efficiently?
5. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS - we want our kids to grow up, be happy, independent, and take care of theirselves. Do we want to raise our kids to believe they’re last on the totem pole? We can tell them til we’re blue in the face, but if we don’t MODEL this behavior they will model after us. This is huge.
The guilt you feel when taking time for yourself needs to get flushed down the toilet once and for all. In fact that only guilt that should cross our mind is NOT showing up for ourselves.
This has the greatest trickle effect in to every part of our life! Show up for yourself! Invest in yourself! You are worth it and your family would benefit from it.

Double Kettlebell Swing, Clean, Front Squat, Press to the floor
Burpee to a Pull Up
1 Arm Swing, High Pull, Snatch each side
Rest for 1-2 minutes and repeat 3 times!

I was embarrassed of success
I’d like to share a little secret with you.
Here it goes... I was embarrassed when someone called me an Entrepreneur. I’m not sure what my hang up with that term was all about. Maybe it was because I assumed Entrepreneurs were in it to just make money and making money was a bad thing. I was under the impression that making a lot of money may be perceived as sleazy and not authentic.
I was told many times you don’t go into the fitness business to make money. I was on board with that idea and accepted it gracefully. I felt very righteous about it.
Most “personal trainers” work day and night and barely make ends meet. Or they work another job to supplement their love for fitness.
I wholeheartedly am in this business to literally change peoples lives by showing them what’s possible with their body at any age. I’ve stayed in it because of the impact I’ve had with teaching women how to regain their strength and then some. I continued on this path to help people of

The Kettlebell Snatch
The Kettlebell Snatch is just one of those exercises that can leave many feeling frustrated. There’s a lot going on with these.
I’m a huge fan of this exercise for people who are able to safely carry a bell vertically over head with a full elbow lock out. I’m also a huge fan when the student can keep their wrist straight and have an understanding of the handle placement.
