African American horror author and Dark Horse comics editor. Her Voice of Blood series introduces the smart, beautiful, sexy and vicious vampires of Portland.

Jemiah Jefferson was born in Denver, Colorado. Her childhood consisted of a steady diet of AM radio, New Wave and disco, music videos, Star Wars, and resenting the strictures of school. At an age too early to remember, she began making up stories populated by vivid characters. Combined with a compulsive urge to write commentary and reactions in the margins of books she read and re-read, she found that these increasingly-complex stories demanded to be written down.

Her first printed work, St*rf*ck*ng, a group of short erotic stories with a touch of celebrity obsession, was published by l

Instead my life just contains a continual onslaught of books I plow through. But in the next couple of months, I hope to re-read William Gibson's "The Peripheral", get more Daphne DuMaurier stories under my belt, finally get to the most recent Jonathan Lethem book before he puts out another one, continue with Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower series, read Carrie Fisher's final volume, and catch a few laughs with Caitlin Moran's "How to be a Woman", which has been on my shelf for six years without me having started it yet. I have got to get a handle on my habit of getting books from the library and start reading the books I already own...(less)

Oh dear I haven’t updated in about a billion years. Crushing depression and inertia will do that to ya.

No news on the writing front, but I’ve been heavily into Twin Peaks – The Return. I’ve been accumulating links to articles about it. They’re all great (well, these ones are, anyway). I hope that witnessing this singular artwork helps inspire me to write the story based on a vivid dream I had…

Aloha
Aloha is 99% done with The Shape of Time: What a mental drug! Some mental drugs are slow to take and may make you puke to ingest the full content. But this one is oh, so smooth with every words easily digested and potent. I was reading the notes. In some books like House of Leaves and Rising Up and Rising Down, notes are an indispensable part of understanding the books. It's not mandatory in this book but I wanted any residue of it.

Jemiah Jefferson I just don't feel quite like reading books right now...

Jemiah Jefferson I wonder if there's a way to link fan fiction on here? I've written so much of it, and it's of high quality. *sigh*

Hermann is the 2016 winner of the Angouleme Grand Prix, recently controversial for the boycott of several nominated cartoonists in protest of the all-male slate of nominees.

I'm pleased about this, having now edited several English-language translations of some of his work, and having become a fan in the process. Excellent bandes-dessinees, and classics of the "Comics are not always for children" category.
