Hi Victoria!
Some of the best advice I ever got was to write everyday! The second best advice I ever got was to read just as much as you write. Read good stuff, bad stuff, and everything in between. You can learn just as much from poor writing as you can from incredible writing. But most of all, be true to your voice. Only you can write your story. So Keep at it, girl!(less)

Our high school years can be some of the most amazing and also some of the most challenging. FLOWER deals with a very important topic: follow your dreams or fall in love with a boy? And sometimes the answer isn't just one or the other. We all face temptations, and in our teen years, we're also trying to decide what we want to do with the rest of our lives. Charlotte struggles with this throughout most of the book, she makes a few mistakes, and I think these mistakes help her to know who she really is . . . and what she really wants!
I've always loved writing YA because it's such a vital point in all our lives and every decision can effect the rest of your life. (less)

“If I don't know the worst thing about you, how can I ever really care about you?”
Shea Olsen, Flower

“The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for want of an understanding ear.”
Stephen King

“I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.”
Sarah Williams

“I retreat to my room and lock the door. Lying on my bed, my brain cyclones with thoughts of men and boys and boys and men. All making the wrong choices.”
S.M. Parker
