I appreciate that so much. Believe it or not, writing a book was kind of a random idea! I think I wanted to see if I could do it, and I'm so glad I did because I discovered a real passion. I was very fortunate to sign with an agent fairly quickly (I used Chuck Sambuchino's Guide to Literary Agents to find the right fit). But the editor who ended up buying this book actually found it because she was the judge for a writing contest I entered! I learned that you have to do whatever you can to get yourself out there and meet people, especially when you're like me and you don't know anyone in the publishing world! Thanks for the great question, Dawn. Kristy(less)

“But death, as in birth, never comes at a convenient time. No matter how prepared you are that the moment is nigh, no matter how anticipatory you have been, there is never a moment where the realization that this it it, my life is changed forever, doesn't come as a bit of a shock.”
Kristy Woodson Harvey, Lies and Other Acts of Love

“You can never have too many people who love you.”
Kristy Woodson Harvey, Dear Carolina

“And so, I lost everything. I had already lost my daddy, which is how I got this whole drinkin’ thing started anyhow. Now I was losing my momma. My friends. My job. But I would have rather lived on the street than give up the destroyer that felt like it was the only thing sacrificing itself for me. I”
