But he doesn't go alone. That's all I'm saying there. ;-) And so now I'm working on a novella for the "Spring in Hyde Park" collection. And then off to Greece for the next book. (less)

I read the Horatio Hornblower series, and Nathaniel Drinkwater, and others, and they are a little gritty, so I wanted to find a way to tell a story that didn't have all of that, but stayed true to the times. And I wanted a young woman on the ship, because of course someone has to fall in love with the captain!
The other books have followed along. I wanted to make sure they stayed with the chronological events of the war, and I love setting them in interesting places.

Lots and lots of books are close to release...

For some reason--well, I know the reason, it's because I'm working with multiple publishers, and their schedules-- it always happens this way. All these things are scheduled to come out at once.

So, first up, in just a week, on September 1, The Shipbuilder's Wife will be released. This is the second in the War of 1812 Series. It deals with the bur... Read more of this blog post »

I liked the idea of a woman spy among the nobility. I also really liked how Shadow was damaged by the hard things she'd had to do in the name of the Crown. The mission in this story wasn't so much about international espionage during wartime as it wa ...more

""A person is not what he has done in the past. He becomes what he chooses to do with the life he's been given."

"I enjoyed SAINTS AND SINNERS. I appreciate when people--or characters in books--work to correct mistakes or improper actions.

“The correct relationship will make a person bloom. He becomes more himself, his talents deepen, his personality grows, and he thrives. But the wrong relationship will produce the opposite. The things that were once so vital no longer matter. His talents disappear, his individuality fades, and he wilts.”
Jennifer Moore, Miss Burton Unmasks a Prince

“Amelia would recommend widowhood to anyone who inquired about it, though she supposed it would perhaps be more difficult on women who had actually formed an acquaintance with and felt some affection toward their husbands.”
Jennifer Moore, Becoming Lady Lockwood

“But you must know that a woman responds more favorably to a polite suggestion than a direct order.”
