Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, I transported myself to southeastern Australia in 2007, where I spend my time dodging parrot droppings, racking my brain, and contemplating my navel. My favourite book genres are sci-fi and fantasy, but I'll enjoy pretty much anything that tells a good story. In early 2020, my wife and I moved to the Blue Mountains, and have so far been loving it up here.

More about my writing can be found at my website. I also moderate the recently reactivated Short Fiction group here on Goodreads.

“Take a deep breath and read. It'll calm you.”

Rumi
“Today, like every other day, we wake up empty

Let the beauty we love be what we do.

“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'

“The power of imagination makes us infinite.”

Jack London
“I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time.”
