Self-publishing vs traditional publishing

Now that I am working on the last revision of my book, I am starting to wonder if I should self publish or get a publisher. There seems to be pluses with both. For example, I would like to get involved with the marketing and promo of the book like a self publisher. Then again, signing with a publisher would mean possibly having a larger distribution system.
