Many of the countries that practice Child/Forced marriage are working together with Governments / tribal leaders on eliminating the practice, and there are now a lot of organizations working on the ground in these countries to educate those who support it about the harm and devastation it causes. However, i believe much more needs to be done by making more people aware about the issue itself. Many people in the UK are unaware that Child marriage even exits, never mind knowing it happens in our own back yard! It will take time, especially because its gone on for so long and is a part of many cultures and traditions, but if nobody ever tries to right a wrong then nothing would ever change. (less)

A Father’s Betrayal by Gabriella Gillespie
"Very well written sad and gut wrenching tale,

A gripping story all the more poignant as it is a true story in recent times.
Very powerful tail that would benefit from a summary conclusion, I would love to know that they are all ok.

“There were many reasons why I chose to stay silent about my past for so long, mostly fear and shame. Now im older and wiser. Now I understand that I should never have to live in fear of another human being, and if I do, that's their shame, not mine.”

“I write for those women who do not speak, for those who do not have a voice because they were so terrified, because we are taught to respect fear more than ourselves. We've been taught that silence would save us, but it won't.”
