1940s Dodge pickup, rethink.

Bill Burleson caught the truck in--where else?--New Mexico. This would have started life as a somewhere-in-the-1940s Dodge. If you enter Dodge in our search widget, over there on the right, it is astounding what does come up. Everything from the original Donald Juddmobile to a '58 Coronet  Chip Lord caught in San Francisco.

c. 1961 Mercedes Benz 190, Cambridge.

Even Benz wore fins for a while. Basha Burwell caught the Benz in Cambridge, Mass. Don't think it's a D.  A while back we did post a c. 1961 Mercedes Benz 190D on the road between Cimarron, New Mexico and Taos

That curved glass...

1953 Buick Special Deluxe, Swift Current

From Alex Emond, in Saskatchewan: Parked across the street from a Swift Current school . Hard not to see a snarl in that grille. From early childhood , one learned to associate those three holes with a Buick. This car is half ugly , half beautiful, but great to see one still floating around at age 70.

AL: This model year was relatively subdued, but within a year or two Detroit's  Festival of Chrome began. The  '58 Buick Roadmaster was perhaps the ultimate Belchfire.  Speaking of Buicks, we posted a nimble little Skylark convertible a while back. And speaking of Skylarks, you might remember the artist Mary Louise Geering's story about inheriting Aunt Barbara's car.

Nissan NV2500

Car and Driver likes these vans. Looks like an ambulance, to me.

1970 Plymouth GTX

From Alex Emond, in Saskatchewan: A muscular car I have never seen before. In a Swift Current driveway. Badge on the hood says 440 cubic inches. Looks mint. I'm not into muscle cars but this orange machine is impossible to ignore. Might sell for well over 100K (US$!) . 70s muscle is in demand. There can't be many of these around , especially in such condition .

Ford Falcon x 2.

From Markus Anstadt, in California: "I believe the restored convertible is a 1963 model with the desirable and rare V8. The wagon looked original.AL: you saw the Falcon Ranchero we caught last week? There are a flock of Falcons noted on that post.

Work Truck #3. c. 2020 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van

Basha Burwell photos. Cambridge MA. Flying the eagle. In Canada, our national animal is the beaver. Sends a different for of message, maybe. Both eagle and beaver were nearly pushed to extinction by 1950s. When I was spending time on the Blood Reserve /Kainai Nation in Alberta, in 1990s, the Elders were getting their eagle feathers (important for ceremonies) from a German guy who brought them from...Poland. Both beaver and eagle are back, bigtime. See plenty of eagles every summer on Eggemoggin Reach.

No-nonsense Work Truck #2

Cambridge, MA. N-N Work Truck #1 was the Ford F-250 Toolchest Truck. We prefer busy trucks that can do the job with minimal fuss, not faux gargantua chasing myths of hyper-masculinity.
