From Reid Cunningham, Manchester NH. "Completely restored and perfect. Nice to see someone driving this to work and enjoying it on the road."AL: We posted a '65 Bird from Vermont a couple weeks back.
..."Fancy enough to have Thunderbird on the hubcaps!"

1951 Chrysler New Yorker. Colorado Springs.
And we have posted another '51 New Yorker powering through the Chihuahua Express. The '61 New Yorker was more or less a Batmobile.

So you want a grainer...
This 1961 Chevrolet Viking has seen a few harvests. It's on the block in Oklahoma. Find out more at Hi-Bid. Thanks to David Branch for the heads-up. More grainers here. A few years ago we posted a 1959 Chevrolet Viking bus restored and re-tuned as a land yacht

1959 Fargo D100. Saskatchewan.
From Alex Emond: "On the outskirts of Kyle, Saskatchewan. That's about an hour north of Swift Current or, if you prefer, "Speedy Creek ". This property had a few old rides but no one was around for me to question. Obviously, this Fargo has worked for a living, but it still seems to be in reasonable shape . I'd be happy just to own the tailgate. Fargo is a Canadian-branded Dodge. Can't be sure of the year...seems a bit bigger than a half ton. Good looking truck."AL: we have posted many a Fargo, most from north of the 49th parallel.

1981-84 Lincoln Town Car
From Reid Cunningham, in Berea, OH. "Another of the Big 3 exercises in downsizing. They all followed a move to crisp, clean, square lines which still look good today. With some repairs on the front and back corner pieces, along with a repaint of the hood, this would be a sharp ride. The vinyl roof was in good condition, unusual for the age of the car. The opera windows are kind of cheesy and tacky....but I miss them. I bet the seats are still super comfortable. This was still a time where the switch from carburetors to fuel injection was a big deal, so lots of emblems announcing the fact."
AL: Here is some Lincoln over-the-topness...the baroque '59, which was followed by the Italianesque sleekness of the early Sixties Lincolns. Back to over-the-topness for the 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Givenchy.

A pair of Pontiacs...
From Alex Emond: "...from different eras, both stylish but remarkably different. I saw the old black car in Willow Bunch,. Saskatchewan and the sleek Parisienne was parked in a neighborhood in Swift Current. Those ivory Bakelite (maybe) turn signals are a cool detail. I have seen similar doodads on old Indian motorcycles. It looks like the owner /restorer made some of the grille pieces - did a nice job. He was inside the gas station with some of his friends. Seems like gas stations in small towns have a table or two for locals to hang and complain about Trudeau, and the weather. The blue '66 Pontiac Parisienne really stands out in a neighbourhood with all the bland look alike new cars and the BIG pick up trucks. From a time when you could tell what was coming two blocks away."AL: re. Canadian Pontiacs: Here's a 1959 Pontiac Laurentian Safari Station Wagon

1963 Dodge Custom 880. Coupe and Wagon
Kinda struck by the ridiculous beauty of this...big old Dodge Custom 880, which we found on a Classic Mopar f'book page. Dug a little deeper and came up with the 880 wagon, which is more complicated, and nowhere near as sleek... post-Exner, but still, showing signs of his Forward Look..the cars of the early/ mid-sixties peeled down some of the verbosities of the 1950s Exner cars...
