Heavy Metal! The Diamond T

 

From Colin Washburn, in the Sierra foothills: Neglected old Diamond T workhorse, 1940’s vintage. Once a log-hauler for the West Side Lumber Company here in Tuolumne, Ca., now rusting away, graffitied, and picked clean. Talk about BIG IRON !!

From Michael Moore. in the East Bay: "I got to talking to Mark the machinist about his milspec ’46 GMC for so long I didn’t get any really good pics but found out [in addition to a whole lot of other stuff] he pulled it out of the marshes near Suisun around 1979 for $25.00 and has had it since…along the way he replaced the original 216 six with a 235 as well as several transmissions due to the inherent vice [at least after sixty or eighty years] of water leaking from the windshield, down the dash and gear shift lever and into the tranny which rusts the gears. Who knew?"
