Life magazine did a photo essay on "street" racing in the newly paved channel of the L.A. river, in the mid-Fifties. I found a bunch of the photos posted up at The Chicane.

1970 F100 Ranger, Colorado Springs

1974 Ford F100 Ranger XLT For Sale

This truck is for sale at Ed's Auto Service in Colorado Springs. Looked original. Could be an old-man, one-owner truck. It was getting a tune-up chez Ed. Has a cap on the back. Mileage showed 55k. I don't know if the engine was a 390, or not. I think asking was $2500. Talk to Ed. 719 632-0444 or 632-7851. I believe this truck would clean up pretty well. I'd put  stock steel wheels on it with dogdish caps, and taller tires. If you buy it and want to ship it talk to Safe-Way Auto Transport.
