1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL

Saw the car in Cambridge, Mass. Elegant little thing. We caught a 190 SL in Brooklin last summer. And a 1967 230 SL in Santa Barbara. Another 230 SL in Charlotte; and then there was this 220 Cabriolet, in Arundel, Maine.

1968 Ford Thunderbird sedan.

From Jonathan Welsh: "Here's a rare one that turned up in Hanover, N.H. last weekend. Sparked a wave of nostalgia because I owned the two-door (or Tudor) version of the same model year from the late 1980s to the mid 2000s. Turned heads and had lots of innovative features for the time, including disc brakes that worked well. "

AL: '67 T'bird Tudor here.

c. 2005 Volvo S60 t5

Michael Moore saw the car in Benicia, Calif.,  and suggested that... ...it did seem to be levitating. This is, we believe, the very first S60 posted on AL. Here is a v70 from the same era, a very rare (in USA) 5-speed. And various Volvos-in-progress at Alan's Auto in Portland ME a while back.

Imported 4wd RH-drive Japanese minivans are starting to range beyond their natural habitat, which for a long time was the Northwest, especially British Columbia and Banff. Markus Anstadt caught this unit in Denver a few weeks back.

California Dreaming

The Benicia Classic Car Show was on earlier this week, and Michael Moore sent these photos from the East Bay. Is that a 1969-70 Chevrolet Malibu wagon? And a Chevrolet 3200 Task Force-era 3/4 ton pickup...
Somehow a Volvo P-544 was admitted to the show. Yay! Here's another P-544 we posted a while back.
Eighties Oldsmobile wagon. Living room on wheels.
1958 Chevrolet convertible (Impala?). I958 cat's-eye Chevrolet wagon. Here's a 1959 El Camino, up in Vermont.
And a Volkswagen Type 2, reconsidered and  shoebox-styled.  Maybe a European commercial conversion?
