1976 Chevrolet K20

From Reid Cunningham "As I start my weekend commutes across upstate NY, VT and NH, I am passing at least 6 or 7 square body Chevy/GMC's. Given the last year as 1987, their longevity is amazing even considering the vast numbers built. Most I see at night but I caught this one in daylight (will hopefully catch more as the days lengthen). If I had the cash I would be tempted by this one now that I am at the end of a dirt road in NH and winter will eventually come again. This is black primer, the underlying truck looks to be blue from the bed interior. Well worn interior. 4 speed transmission and likely the ubiquitous 350.

Mystery Car of Cork

from Brian O'Mahoney: " I've subscribed to your blog for a few years. I've started to fixate on this car from my own past. The photo could have been taken in Paris with the steeple and the cyclists in the background but it wasn't. It was taken in Cork, Ireland and the hand on the rhs belongs to my dad who also has his foot on the front bumper. He was born in 1920 so my best guess is that this was from the 1940s. He and his brother worked as drivers for my grandfather's car hire company...there's a whole other story there..but that's how a young man of limited means had such a nice car!
"Cork has so many interesting associations with cars. This was the site of Ford's first factory outside the US, the home of Ford's grandfather and I know there was an early Dodge dealer in the city too.
"Anyway, I'd welcome any ideas about this car. It could be from anywhere but my best guess is that it's English. I don't think it's French or Italian. The split windscreen and the horizontal line on the grill may be the big distinguishing characteristics.
"I'd be interested to see what you can add that might help narrow my search."               AL: can anyone ID this car?

1961 International Harvester Scout 80

Looks like a lean, clean machine that spent a lot of its time in southern Idaho. Originally sold by a farm equipment dealer. On the block at B-A-T.

Chevrolet S10, Amsterdam

from Guido Golüke, in Amsterdam: "There are few people about on the streets, and no tourists. We have got our city back to ourselves. After this enforced break from the annoying and crushing presence of all these ‘intrepid’ travellers, maybe the powers that be will come to their senses and reduce their numbers. I am not optimistic – more budget hotels are being built right now.
"The pick-up is fittingly parked in front of houses built to elevate the working class. They are called In the Blacksmith’s , In the Plasterer’s and so on."

Today is our first real spring day, and birdsong and wind in the leaves are all you hear outdoors. We are well, albeit cramped and uncertain about the finish line.
