Arundel, Maine. Chevrolet 3100

About as truck as it gets. We saw it at Motorland in Arundel, Maine. Further 3100s we have posted: a '57 from Apalachicola, FL  A rugged survivor in Colorado Springs. A 3100 lowrider in Santa Fe; a 1952 3100 in Saskatchewan.

1953 Chevrolet 210 original

Saw this car for sale in Freeport, Maine. We posted a 1954 Chevy 210 from Alberta a while back. And a 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air from Santa Fe. A '54 Bel Air in Colorado Springs. Another 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air in Sedgwick, Maine.








 

Rover SD1

 

from Jonathan Welsh: "Fans of the "New Avengers" TV show of the late 1970s would recognize the Rover SD1 as agent John Steed's car from the series. Otherwise U.S. drivers might be at a loss. While the sleek design sold from 1976 to '86 in Europe, buyers here never warmed to it. After two years on the market -- '80 and '81 -- it was gone. Judging by the hood badge I'll call this an '81 model. Don't those 14-inch wheels seem impossibly tiny by today's standards?"

1951 International Harvester ranch truck

 

Two Internationals arrived on the AL doorstep the same day. The flatbed from Larry Nordell outside Helena,  Montana; the stock truck from Matt Dallett on the road to Aspen CO.

1966 Mustang convertible, with all the angles

From Reid Cunningham, in Milford NH: "Just a nice basic Mustang convertible.  Automatic and judging by the small single exhaust a straight 6.  I like the original hubcaps.  A nice cruiser, not a bruiser.  I appreciate that it wasn't "improved".  Milford, NH I also like how the angle on the mirror support matches the angle of the windshield and vent window."

Wolseley Hornet Mk II

 

A more luxurious, extended and finned version of the Mini, these ran through the 1960s. Grill looks a little overdone on such a tiny car but maybe it spoke class to British buyers. AL caught the car at Motorland in Arundel, Maine.

1969 Chevrolet Camaro

 Caught the Camaro in Belfast, Maine. A few years back AL caught another '69 on its way back from the strip at Winterport. And Michael Moore saw one in the Bay Area. The Chevrolet  Monte Carlo was a more sedate executive version of this car. 

1968 Plymouth Road Runner

Seems to be MoPar month on Autoliterate. We saw this car in Belfast, Maine.

1965 Plymouth Valiant. Bayside, Portland.

 Here at AL, we appreciate plainjane cars. They made the original Barracuda out of this car, but I think yer basic Valiant was better looking than that first generation of fish. (AL posted a '66 Barracuda in Sandy Cove, Nova Scotia  a while back.) Caught this Valiant in the ex-industrial Bayside neighborhood in Portland, Maine. Another '65 posted a while ago from Santa Barbara.
