Author Anne Carol

Anne-Carol

Anne Carol grew up reading, writing, and listening to English rock bands, obsessing over one in particular. Her obsession and endless daydreaming inspired her to write her first romance novel at age twelve. Over twenty years later she decided to re-write the story for publication. Never Let Go, the first book in her Faithfully Yours series, is a story that has been a part of Anne since childhood. When she’s not reading or writing, she enjoys traveling, wine tasting, dancing, watching teen dr...

Children’s Books for Earth Day and Arbor Day

3866071159_73f404cb9e_z

When I was a teacher, I loved discussing the importance of caring for the earth with students. One of the best times to schedule related units was during the month of April, which is when we celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day. This year, Earth Day falls on April 22, and Arbor Day is on April 24.

The Lorax by Dr. Seuss is a symbolic s...

Book Review: Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin

4 stars

Something Borrowed has an attention-grabbing premise and is very well written. As a result, I wanted to keep reading even though the main character and her best friend annoyed me.

Here’s the gist of the story. On the night of Rachel’s thirtieth birthday party (which her best friend Darcy planned), she sleeps with Darcy’s fiance (Dex). But here’s the thing, Rachel was friends with Dex long before he even knew Darcy, and she’s the one who set the couple up. To make matters worse, Rachel realiz...

Book Review: In Between by Jenny B. Jones

4 stars

I immediately fell in love with Katie Parker, a sixteen year old who has traveled from foster home to foster home, finally ending up with Millie and Joseph (a pastor) in the small town of In Between. Her insecurities about not really having anyone and fears about being shipped off to the next foster home are conveyed loud and clear through her sarcastic inner dialogue, which is very funny but overdone at times. About halfway through the book this sarcasm dies down a bit and is replaced with...
