I started this novel nearly ten years ago. The unfinished manuscript was put on the shelf for a few years. Perhaps I needed time to heal further myself. Perhaps I needed time to be secure in my own recovery. Perhaps it just was not time to confess the workings of my mind until I lived over 3,000 miles away from the scene of the novel. I really do not want to frighten people with my thoughts and imagination; I really do want to write books that give hope.
Hope? How can a Thriller give hope? Hope of what? That murders will get caught?
The hope that this book gives is: no matter the heinousness of the trauma suffered, there is promise for healing and restoration of one's soul if one is willing to travel the curative path.

If none of that helps then I go for fun such as a day at the beach, hang out with friends, out for dinner, go for a ride (on my horse).(less)
Anna Schilke I can write/work when I feel well enough to write. I'm on my own time.

5-star review on Amazon

This is one of those books that keeps you reading and guessing as to what is going to happen next. Were there additional edits that needed to be made to the book? Yes, but they were easily overlooked due to the various twists in the story-line that just add to the overall reader experience. The detail that was given to the characters made it easy to relate to each of them. Loved that the story... Read more of this blog post »

It was okay. Just okay. The "old girlfriend" was too slutty, the wife was too . . . wifey. The characters were not really believable. But I liked the way it ended.

Well written (grammar-wise). When I read, I read. Period. Even if I hate a book, if I start it I finish it. I had trouble reading this book; if I were the type to quit reading a book, I would have quit reading this book. I was well over half way ...more

Excellent. Well done with the struggles of families with mentally ill loved ones. I did not like the ending though.

“Surreal existence. She had been a serial killer. Was she, had she been, a surreal killer? Was her former life surreal and now this, this unknown, was it real? A surreal killer. A cereal killer. What was a cereal killer? Ah, she knew, it was the person who ate the last of the Cheerios.”
