JOHN YEO JR. has been a soldier, a casino dealer and pit boss, an administrative assistant, an actor, and a perfume salesman. These days, he runs a comics & collectible store with his wife. He also happens to love telling stories.

He’s far less interesting than the characters in his books, but his daughter thinks he’s a tireless super-hero fueled by chocolate and soda----so that’s okay. His wife just wants him to stop adding titles to his growing collection of DVDs.

He’s the author of THE BARREN DAGGER, THE INFINITE LEAGUE, THE KING'S TOURNAMENT, MAMA SAUVETERRE'S CURIOSITY SHOPPE, and he's also dabbled a bit with graphic novels. His next project, I LAUGH TOO MUCH, arrives in 2021.

He and his family live in northwest Indiana.

I usually recommend giving yourself a half-hour to just madly scribble ideas, doodles and genres down until something begins to form. I always begin in the same place....what is a book that I would like to read?

But when that fails, you should take a step back. Take a few hours to watch a movie, play a brand new game I've never tried before----or better yet, read someone else's book! A new novel, a comic, perhaps one of the anthology of short stories I have on my to-read pile! After I allow myself to be the audience for a little while, I'll usually find new inspiration eventually for me to play with, too.(less)

It's about a young girl with a sunny disposition and a somewhat cavalier attitude towards life who decides to abandon her old profession of exchanging romantic favors in rest stops for money for a new career in tracking and recovering fugitives. It's called "SADIE McSTATCH: BOUNTY HUNTIN' ROAD WHORE". (less)

Jerome, the Baccarat Prodigy

When I'm not writing books, my day job has me working at a casino. During my tenure, I've accumulated a bunch of stories that I love to share with my friends. I've got lots of favorites, but this one that happened a few years ago when I was still dealing cards still makes me laugh. This is about the baffling game of Baccarat. To explain the complicated rules behind this game would take an entire s Read more of this blog post »
