Sera Trevor is terminally curious and views the 35 book limit at her local library as a dare. She’s a little bit interested in just about everything, which is probably why she can’t pin herself to one subgenre. Her books are populated with dragons, vampire movie stars, shadow people, and internet trolls. (Not in the same book, obviously, although that would be interesting!) Her works have been nominated for several Goodreads M/M Romance Reader's Choice Awards, including Best Contemporary, Best Fantasy, and Best Debut, for which she won third prize in 2015 for her novella Consorting With Dragons.

She lives in California with her husband, two kids, and a cat the size of three cats.

Right now, I'm working on an expansion of Consorting with Dragons, which will delve more deeply in Jasen and Rilvor's relationship. And it will be available for free! You can read an excerpt of it here. I'm also working on a sequel to Consorting with Dragons, tentatively titled Larely Lands a Lover, which follows Larely's adventures in love.

After that, I will be tackling Curses, Foiled Again, a dark comedy about a vampire who becomes enamored of the one human who doesn't fear him. You can read the full summary at my website here.

(Oh, and in case you missed it, there's also a short NSFW follow-up to Consorting with Dragons called "Bound and Determined," which details their wedding night. You can find it at my website here.)(less)

So sorry that I've been delayed - I really was hoping to have another book out by now, but stuff happens. The good news is that I'm about halfway done my vampire novel, Curses, Foiled Again. I'm not sure when it will be released as I'm hoping to go through a publisher, but hopefully I'll be able to wrap up the draft in the next two months or so.

Unfortunately, my original concept for the sequel to Consorting with Dragons fell apart, but I will be moving forward with a new concept for it that I think everyone will really enjoy. That will be my next project.

Thanks for your continued interest - I know I am a slowpoke, but this fall my kids will finally both be in school, so I'll have much more time to write!(less)

Settle Down (The Troll Whisperer #2) by Sera Trevor

So it's been - wow, a year? But I'm back, and I have great news! I've just released Settle Down, the sequel to The Troll Whisperer.

Oscar and Noah have been married for five years and have an adorable baby girl. Their life seems just about perfect, but then a family emergency brings Noah's bigoted parents back into his life.

The Troll Whisperer was Oscar's story - with Noah's help, he confronts Read more of this blog post »

I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed them! :D Oscar and Noah are probably my favorite couple out of all that I've written. Hoping to write a third book for them in the next year. <3
Sera Trevor answered Jaylee's question: Sera Trevor
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I am planning on writing more in that world. I'm hoping to write Polina and Risyda's love story, as well as find a match for Larely, but the right plot(s) haven't come to me yet. Hopefully inspiration will strike!

“I think," he said at last, "that you are very clever, and clever people such as yourself often think there are answers to all questions. But alas, I was not clever in life, and am even less clever in death. I have no answer that would satisfy you. I believe there are some questions, like the whys and hows of love, that are ineffably beautiful because they have no answer. I was empty once, and your companionship has made me whole. I cannot explain why. Can you accept that?”

“Fine. Let’s say you’re a traitorous, hateful coward. I’ve been celibate my entire life up until I met you, and you fuck like a porn star. Don’t you think I deserve that?”

“So if I’m your only friend, that automatically makes me your best friend, right?”

“It also makes you my worst friend.”

“Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know its normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through.”
Ira Glass

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
Oscar Wilde

“Public truth telling is a form of recovery, especially when combined with social action. Sharing traumatic experiences with others enables victims to reconstruct repressed memory, mourn loss, and master helplessness, which is trauma's essential insult. And, by facilitating reconnection to ordinary life, the public testimony helps survivors restore basic trust in a just world and overcome feelings of isolation. But the talking cure is predicated on the existence of a community willing to bear witness. 'Recovery can take place only within the context of relationships,' write Judith Herman. 'It cannot occur in isolation.”
