Kate Givans enjoys stories with complicated characters, difficult real life struggles, and well-deserved happily ever afters. When not writing, you’ll find her curled up with a book, listening to the rain, wrangling up her five children, drowning in coffee, or binging on her favorite television shows.

Come hang with her on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. She loves chatting it up, especially when it involves books, The Walking Dead, food, movies, or other #geek related topics.

Writer's block is a very tricky thing, indeed! And quite honestly, I can suffer from blocks for weeks, sometimes even months.

What helps me the most is to allow myself a day, or even just a few hours, to concentrate on something else. I paint, pick up a book and read, spend time playing with the kids, do something that doesn't involve writing.

After I've used my allotted time, I go back to writing. I write, even when I don't know what to say. I just put down whatever comes out. Sometimes, it's nothing more than a string of dialogue. Other times, it's just absolute garbage. But no matter what it is, I get through it and get back to writing!

Mission accomplished. =) (less)

If you grabbed your special pre-order priced copy, it should be on your Kindle, all pretty and waiting for you. I truly, truly hope you enjoy Willow’s story. It was both the best and the hardest book I have written to date. Thank you for helping me do something I love by supporting Indie authors like myself. There will never be sufficient words to express the depth

“Because that’s the thing about love. Sometimes you’re head over heels long before you’ve even have the chance to register the fall. ”
Kate Givans, Tortured

“The kiss wasn’t just any kiss. No, it was a tricky little bastard, because it started out soft and gentle, but shifted gears in a matter of seconds. The moment her response went from surprise to surrender, the kiss turned hard and hungry, launching us into a frenzy of movement. Her arms were around my neck, my hands were moving all over her body, and somehow, in a span of about five seconds, she climbed up me like a tree, her legs wrapped tightly around my waist.

We spun and bumped into the counter. I reached behind my back with one hand to tighten the cross of her ankles. And then I had her sitting on the edge of the stovetop, my hands exploring the tops of her thighs. I pushed the ruffled skirt hem up and clasped on to her bare, silky skin. Her tongue dove to the back of my throat, sliding over mine like wet, slick velvet.

Holy mother fuck, I couldn’t breathe. I was drowning in this girl.”
Rachael Wade, Declaration

“My guitar's name was Liz. As in, short for Elizabeth, Queen of England. She was a lady.

Don't judge.”
Rachael Wade, Declaration

“She was falling apart beneath my hands, and I was falling apart beneath her. My power was her power, and together, we sent each other soaring.”
Rachael Wade, Declaration

“She pursed her lips and nodded, swiveling around to continue her survey of my modest living space. Her arms were folded tightly across her chest as she strolled around. Letting out a long, deep breath, she dropped her hands to her sides when she reached my DVD collection.
“Downton Abbey?”
I jolted forward, clearing my throat. “Yeah, it’s uh…it’s a good show.”
Rachael Wade, Declaration

“I smiled and rolled onto my side, bringing my arms around her. She wiggled against me, letting me spoon her, and I swept some sweaty hair away from her neck to kiss beneath her ear. “How do you like your new tattoo?”

“I love it. It makes me want to be a bird.”

“You already are a bird.”

“I don’t get to fly.”

“You fly all the time. Haven’t you noticed?”
Rachael Wade, Declaration

Kate Givans I love you! Thank you so much! I am still considering how to go about publishing when I get done...think I might try and work on some short stories to publish, like you mentioned, to gain some exposure before finishing the book. Still debating about using Indie publisher vs. traditional publisher. Maybe you can email me some info on how the whole Indie side would work. Of course, I have a particular Indie publishing company in mind... ;)

Rachael Wade Hey, lovely! Get to writing that book, will ya? ;)
