Strong, Brave, Beautiful
One of my fellow writers gave me a mantra to repeat, on those not so rocking days. Strong, brave and beautiful. Writers have an enormous job in our cultural landscape: we shift how others think through story.

I was born in Vancouver, BC in the 80’s. Teethed on images of the Berlin Wall falling down. The product of Vancouver's multiculturalism, I steeped in divergent cultures, religious experiences and gender roles from an early age. Concentrating on the Backgrounds of English Literature, I wrote on comparative mythologies & fairy tale, Old Norse, world religions, & film in University. On hiatus from the writ

Poetry's so emotional & heteroglossic, it's no end of fun to hear interpretations and their views on an author's work. It's also a fantastic way of checking the pulse of a work and see how it's developed in a reader's eyes. (less)
