My newest literary venture is a trilogy in the Indian mythological genre, titled Guardians of the Blue Lotus. Book one and two- Aryavir and Sitanshu- are published, and are available in Kindle and hard copy formats. The fictional, fantasy story set in the Old World takes readers into the loves, lives and wars of its denizens, and pays homage to India's magnificent mythological heritage and, at its heart, is a story about the eternal human journey.

I spent twenty years in advertising as an Art Director, looking for creative ways to sell everything from colas to candy and ice creams to face creams. I am now creative consultant to Tamarind, a Destination and Event Management Company, which gives me the opportunity to indulge my passion for tra

If it's a blank day or week, where nothing seems to be happening, I take a break for a while and re visit it later. Sometimes, I jump ahead in the story and write an important chapter that's way ahead in the book, and then write the ones in between that lead up to it. (less)

I love watching how my characters develop, how they behave and how they sometimes take on a much bigger role in the story than I had originally planned for them. Nankhatai Biscuits, Bunraku and the Theory of Knowing When to Read!

Writing, and for that matter reading, has taken on a whole new meaning in these cyber-centric times. Who had heard of blogging, kindle and twitter a few short years ago? And how did writing get to be known as ‘content’? Madhuri Iyer What a riveting story about an unusual mother-daughter relationship. Beautiful young architect Nandita relocates from Delhi to Mumbai, and moves in exalted circles. Little does she anticipate the web of intrigue that starts spinning around her! Written with an observer's eye for detail, Anita transports her readers into Mumbai's many worlds- her protagonist Nandita is caught in this vortex of friendships, relationships... and yes, hardships too! Great read.
