Nasreen Pejvack began writing as a Canadian author in 2014. Her debut novel “Amity” was published by Inanna Publications in October of 2015 and was a finalist for British Columbia’s 2016 Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize.
Following that successful novel, she went on to complete “Paradise of the Downcasts,” a collection of short tales and essays inspired by her experiences of life in Canada. She also has a collection of poems entitled “Waiting,” and both books were published/printed by McNally Robinson in 2018. In Nasreen’s stories, her characters give expression to her life’s learning and experiences in order to relate narratives relevant to the concerns of our time. “Luyten’s Star” is her newest publication, a sci-fi novel.

"Well, that was fun. Just finished Luyten’s Star by Nasreen Pejvack. I guess saving society through the work of women makes sense. We’re not doing too well under the leadership of men, eh?!

"Inspiring family- and science-oriented fable that illuminates how greed and capitalism are hurting us and our planet so badly. Socially conscious story blends elements of tragedy, war, hope, humanism, and sci-fi.

Recommended for teens and young adult" Read more of this review »

“Women
The vital essence of life
The embryo of the future
The foundation of existence
Woman, mother, daughter and sister
Eradicate them, and there is nothing”
Nasreen Pejvack, Amity

“We have discovered a lot about our home planet, we now even know much more about our universe
BUT
We haven’t been able to keep the peace and live as civilized, intelligent beings should live.
The “Self”, which is a combination of greed, resentment, and competition, is still the Master!”
