Pretty soon, hopefully, the scene at hand begins to interest me enough so that I start trimming, rewording rearranging what I've written. I don't write a straight begin-at-the- beginning-go-til-you-come-to-end-then-stop type narrative very often; I write scenes that interest me, and grow them together. This random access style of composition is probably left over from my having started as a playwright.(less)

"I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Though I did enjoy the story quite a bit and was eager to see what happened to the characters, the amount of religion in this book put me off a little. I did enjoy the story line and..." Read more of this review »

The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice

I mean the way the electricity could stretch a single note forever; the way harmony could be layered upon harmony until you felt yourself dissolving in the sound. So eloquent of dread it was, this music…”
