Fifteen minutes grabber
Ok, today I’ve written some stuff here for 3 minutes and deleted it all. It was about dogs.
My best writing thoughts come when I’m away from the keyboard, have no notepaper to jot down, or the time and place is not great to pull out a pen and start scribbling. Actually, mostly everything arrives when I’m almost asleep, or just waking up. Then it’s much a case of telling myself, “that’s a good ‘un. Make sure you get that down when you are up.”
Get up is fine. Jot it down is not.

Today the hubster has taken delivery of some posts and fencing. His chest has expanded with joy and pride and for the next few days, he will be grubby and extremely happy.
He decided we needed a fence between us and the neighbours. Not because they are miserable old bats or anything, he just wanted to put it up and grow something up it. I’m internalising that really it was about wanting a man project. Something that entails several trips to the hardware shop for tools not needed, but nevertheless will look rather nice in the back of a cupboard, for just in case.
Back to the growing part, really hoping this will not be tomatoes or beans or anything edible. Because as I will be parking next to this here fence, I’m anticipating hubster will be painting a white line my wheels are not to cross over. And quite possibly he will find some or other contraption to monitor exhaust fumes and, spend far too much time attempting to persuade me to park three streets away.
Posts and fences have been here for about 30mins, and already the drill is buzzing.
Times up.

Another grabbed fifteen minutes
OK, fifteen minutes before I head downstairs to boil the kettle for coffee and a little snack. Today the snack will be a mini Tesco Bounty kind of a bar. My Dad told me about these and they have become a welcome addition to my cupboard, not so welcome on the thighs. But hey-ho, they are small and coconut is healthy. Isn’t it?

Well the pondy meeting didn’t happen yesterday. Weather got in the way. Today, however, it is pretty darn good – you can tell I’m English, talking about the weather gives it away – and so this morning I headed down to town, on foot, leaving the hubster to some peace and quiet and several large boxes of stamps. Suggested he does a darn good rummage through and by the time I get back to have a wonderful find of a real gem of a stamp that will skyrocket us into gazzilionaire status. Suffice to say, he is yet to find it.
Yesterday I shared how I save flies and bees and spiders etc. Today my share is not liking the colour ORANGE. No idea why. Just not all that fond of it.

fifteen minutes before I leave for work
30th July 2018 – it be Monday
Writers Block – write anything, just write you dummy
That’s all I have, fifteen minutes to put something down on this blank page. No idea where to start. No idea what to say. How about I think about what work is going to be?
Hmmm, well, it’s a 2pm-10pm shift. Quite a change for me. And that’s an office position too. I never really associated late shifts with office work before. Have you? Office hours have always been 8-4 or 9-5. Where is Dolly Parton when I need her.
If my mind is correct we have an outdoor meeting between 2 and 3. Up the road at a pondy sort of place. Is pondy even a word? Who knows, leaving me only to hope the context is correct for this blog. Of course, the weather is not playing along, after endless and long days of heat and blue sky, so today we return to grey, damp and blegh. Reason for the meeting? Colleague leaving tomorrow. She’s fluent in French, going to Uni in France to study Spanish. Go figure!
Do you know I actively save every kind of flying creature and, crawling ones too? Flies the lot. Shew them out through doors and windows, urging them to “come along, out you go.” Hubster smiles and rolls his eyes, and will take over shewing if I’m dashing out the door.
Ok, that’s it. 15 minutes almost up.
Just enough time to add tags and categories and publish. Feeling content I’ve done it.
One last thing. Not sure who the killer will be on Unforgotten. Loads of red herrings there.

Outrageous – Local District Nurse attacked
I’m at a loss for words. Received this message from a colleague at the local GP surgery where I used to work. For the love of all good, what and why would anybody do this to a person who gives of themselves to help anybody put on this planet – or for that matter anybody in general.
This lovely lady would no doubt have been in full uniform and highly likely on her way to assist a sick person.
I say the attacker was cowardly and a $@%%$%$%$%$%$%*&^*%^!@!
#NHS #WhiteVan #attack #crime
Our district nurse has just reported an awful incident. She was driving up S Lane on Friday and pulled over to let a oncoming white van pass. The driver proceeded to squirt a liquid at her through her open window. It was some type of cleaning fluid. The matter has been reported to the police. Please be aware.

Freedom of speech, with respect!
Hello there,
seems a blog of mine from some time ago has within the last 24 hours garnered some trolling.
As a rule, I don’t take down any comments, believing that by blogging you put yourself out there and, take the good with the bad. However, and this is a BIG however, I draw the line at visitors deliberately leaving spiteful comments/replies to those who have previously commented and visited. Therefore I have removed the spite (left by a single individual), which had no other purpose other than to be mean and nasty. At the same time, I send an apology to those of you who indirectly received it too.

calls to the surgery
Part of my life is taken up working at the local GP surgery. You hear many things there, some of which you wish you hadn’t heard, but these two recent calls left me speechless, if only because of the absurdness
I can’t come to my appointment today because I’m not feeling very well
What the heck were you coming for then? A casual chat over a cuppa and iced bun? Book a holiday?

(Photo: http://www.ipvs.net.au/montserrat-day...)
I cancelled my appointment because it was about to thunder
Was the thunder going to make you worse, better, scare the living daylights out of you? Or is it simply you loose the use of your legs?

What’s your best excuse for not going to your GP appointment?

Downward Dog Reached
A-ha! so today there is success. Found the bestest place ever this morning to continue my yoga journey.
Completed my downward dog and various other poses at The Yoga Club and now I’m ready to take on the world. Well, take on the rest of the day at least.
Happy Saturday and may Yoga be with you

didn’t reach my downward dog
(photo from https://www.tumblr.com/search/yoga%20gone%20bad)
With my yoga teacher taking a summer break, and having been lazy to the point of words can’t describe, it seemed a good idea to have a home practice the other evening.
In theory this would take me about 30 mins. In practice, well not quite so long. There I was in my bedroom, mat out, dressed comfortably, breathing in and then breathing out. My eyes were closed, I was at peace readying myself, stretching my arms skyward, when THWACK, the back of my hand smashed against the handle of my cupboard. Thirty seconds in, that’s all it took, for the tranquility I’d been seeking to be shattered with a stream of choice words and, a throbbing hand clutched to my body. So much for reaching downward dog.
Suffice to say Yoga ended, mat was rolled up and I went to bed with a book.

Holy camembert and bacon butties, the boys from Oz are back
[image error]
(photo: https://tenplay.com.au/channel-ten/masterchef/season-9/episode-1)
Jeepers, watched episode 1 of Masterchef Oz season 9, and holy camembert and bacon butties, are those contestants talented or what. Last contestant up with only an hour to produce a signature dish was Callan Smith. Only 18 years old and you’d swear he shared DNA with Heston Blumenthal. And as for the judges, well they had their aprons blown off with his talent.

At 18 there was little chance of me frying an egg. Look at this dish. Looks so simple but it isn’t.
Japenese Inspired Salmon with wasabi caviar

Callan isn’t the only genius foodie to watch, there were a-plenty. But he just caught my eye, great personality and a pretty nice guy, who evidently can cook.
Lots to watch, only another 61 episodes. Hubster and I will be watching them all.
Will we be inspired to cook and create wondrous food? Short answer . . . NO
