Medieval Monday | A HIGHLAND MOON ENCHANTMENT

Welcome to the start of Medieval Monday! Our theme for the next thirteen weeks is "First Encounter" between the hero and herione. We are beginning and ending with our own snippets, and I'll be sharing mine from A Highland Moon Enchantment. A prickling of unease slithered within Desmond. When Alastair held his hand up in warning, Desmond swiftly placed a...

Medieval Monday | A Midwinter Feast at Urquhart Castle

Come journey with me as I whisk you away to 13th century Scotland for a Midwinter’s feast. We shall arrive at Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness. This is the home of the Clan MacKay—the Dragon Knights. Their bloodline is steeped in ancient Celtic mythology. Though they respect the new religion that has swept across their land, the Dragon Knights continue to honor the old ways. Midwinter is a celebration of light and warmth here within the walls. The doors have been left open for all to...

Medieval Monday Update

Sadly, we had to delay the start of Medieval Monday until February 4th. However, I'm going to continue with a medieval theme on Mondays on my blog. As many of you know, I'm a visual person. I've been known to snatch up a book just by its stunning cover. The same can be said with medieval paintings. The walls of my home are graced with many, especially around my writing desk. I become mesmerized by the colors, faces, or the tiniest detail in the painting. My mind observes and then spins a tale...

A Love Affair with Medieval Romance

I've talked about my passion for all things Medieval on other blogs, but never here. With the return of Medieval Monday next week, I thought I'd share my obsession for this particular time-period...I’ve often been asked this question, “Why Medieval romance? Why not Regency, Victorian, or Western?” In truth, I love them all, but my heart belongs to one. It started when my fingers opened a book about the great Irish King, Brian Boru (941-1014 A.D.). His story is legendary, especially with the p...
