Friday Feast | For the Love of Vegetables

If you asked my husband, he'd tell you that I was a rabbit in my former life. Why? Because I love vegetables (especially salads) and for my love of rabbits. Kidding aside, I do tend to grab a vegetable snack before anything else. Most people would consider vegetables a minor side dish. Yet I'm content to having them as my main meal. Psst...no, I'm not a vegetarian, merely a vege lover.

It's been a long week, and I'm heading into a longer weekend and week ahead. I'm heavy into edits for MAGNAR: ...

She's a Free Spirit. He's a One-Woman Man. "Love, Art, and Other Obstacles" by Sadira Stone

Please make welcome the lovely author, Sadira Stone to the Tavern! We're celebrating her new release, Love, Art, and Other Obstacles. I'm in love with the cover! Oh, so sexy. Let's take a look...

Rejected by her family for her bisexuality, graphic artist Margot DuPont yearns for a life with no fences, no limits, and no family ties. Between college, work at Book Nirvana, and an art competition, she barely has time for her part-time girlfriend, much less a flirtation with her competitor.

Dumped ...

Long and Short Reviews Weekly Blog Challenge | 05.20.20

Again, my apologies for missing last week's blog challenge. Let's just say it was a challenging week for me.

Now this week's topic had me laughing: How I'd fare in a zombie apocalypse. Ahem! Me in a zombie apocalypse? Not going to happen unless I have certain people and weapons at my side.

Number one super hero I want there to protect and shield me...THOR! He was the first person I thought of when I looked at this week's topic. Why? I think it has to do with my current work-in-progress I'm w...

Friday Feast | The Joy of Cookbooks

Mary's bookcase of cookbooks

Instead of sharing a recipe, I thought I'd confess to one of my passions: collecting cookbooks! Now if you asked my husband about my passion, he'd probably say, "You mean her obsession, right?" As most of you know, I love to cook and bake. I've been sharing recipes since I started my first blog eight years ago in 2012. Yet I love collecting cookbooks, especially those that have certain stories and/or share the background of the town and how the recipe evolved.

Friday Feast | Rose Syrup

I created this delicious syrup several years ago after finishing the book, Oath of a Warrior. I called it, Erina's Rose Syrup, after the heroine. Ever since, I try to make a batch as soon as my red roses start to bloom in the spring. This syrup is wonderful in drinks and over ice cream (I tend to favor it with Vanilla Bean).

And speaking of Oath of a Warrior, I'm hoping to have some good news within the next month regarding the audio release. It's in production now, and Jamie Dione is...

Long and Short Reviews Weekly Blog Challenge | 05.06.20

Welcome to the merry month of May! This week's topic made my heart happy: Favorite holiday of the year and why. Can you guess by the caroling of bells? Christmas/Winter Solstice!

Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love the preparationsgathering greenery, decorating, sending Christmas cards, and baking. Many years ago, I would start my holiday baking in late September. Yes, youve read correctly. A tradition that began with my mother. All the goodies would be carefully...
