My Reviews at Amazon

See public reviews written by me at Amazon.

Hey, folks! Reading is something I greatly enjoy, and writing reviews is one of the ways I try to help fellow authors. Unfortunately, posting reviews to Amazon and Goodreads and here is becoming a bit much. So, for the foreseeable future, I’ll only be posting my reviews to Amazon.

My January reviews:

Rationality Zero by J.M. Guillen

Kept me guessing

With a cast including several "love to hate 'em" characters, this book kept me guessing who dunnit to the very end. Just enough romance to make me want to see Morgan and Nick together at the end, but it wasn't overdone. The progressio

Great quick reads,

Fast-paced with a punchy twist... Just how I like 'em. Every story in this collection is my kind of twisted.

Good but slow read.

Good but slow read. I figured short crime fiction would have been snappier. The private-eye monologue would have gone over better in first pov, though, imo. That could have helped pick up the pace, too. I found myself skimming some

Sat at the charger to read it ...

I really just couldn't stop reading once I'd started. Kindle died about 70% in, so I've been sitting here at the charger reading on borrowed time. Lol worth it, though. Finished in one sitting.

Virginia Woolf
“Dearest, I feel certain that I am going mad again. I feel we can't go through another of those terrible times. And I shan't recover this time. I begin to hear voices, and I can't concentrate. So I am doing what seems the best thing to do. You have given me the greatest possible happiness. You have been in every way all that anyone could be. I don't think two people could have been happier 'til this terrible disease came. I can't fight any longer. I know that I am spoiling your life, that without me you could work. And you will I know. You see I can't even write this properly. I can't read. What I want to say is I owe all the happiness of my life to you. You have been entirely patient with me and incredibly good. I want to say that – everybody knows it. If anybody could have saved me it would have been you. Everything has gone from me but the certainty of your goodness. I can't go on spoiling your life any longer. I don't think two people could have been happier than we have been. V.”
Virginia Woolf

Nina LaCour
“There used to be days that I thought I was okay, or at least that I was going to be. We'd be hanging out somewhere and everything would just fit right and I would think 'it will be okay if it can just be like this forever' but of course nothing can ever stay just how it is forever.”
Nina LaCour, Hold Still
