Ash Litton is a writer and lover of sci-fi, fantasy, and all things fictional. She is the author of Thoroughbred, Evening Hallow, Comeuppance, and Cabover Cabaret, and works on other Appalachian Dream Tales between her ongoing novel projects. She's also written No Diet, No Surgery, No Sweat, an ebook chronicling her weight-loss journey. Her debut novel is Uncertain Heirs.

When she's not writing, she's drawing, and when she's not doing either of those, she's dreaming up new projects to work on. Born and raised in rural West Virginia, Ash has always wondered what things lay hidden in the hills around her. She attended West Virginia University, where she studied the English language before returning home to her family in rural West Virginia.

I've been rewatching the anime every few years, and their relationship is one that sticks with me, as the first time I watched it, I thought they were just thrown together at the end; but upon rewatches, I've picked up on the slow build of their relationship, and I think I appreciate it more because of that.(less)

There's a lot of world here, and I think I've only just scratched the surface. There had better be more stories, especially involving the Others.

I picked this book up during the WV Book Festival, and fell in love with the author’s voice. Grammar issues aside (commas!), I greatly enjoyed this introduction to Fraedrich’s Broke Gears series. I’ll definitely be reading the next one and recommendi ...more

Howard Phillips Lovecraft

W.B. Yeats
“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
W.B. Yeats

Kenneth Grahame
“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows

Kenneth Grahame
“All this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered.”
Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows

William Shakespeare
“Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,
Sounds, and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears; and sometime voices,
That, if I then had waked after long sleep,
Will make me sleep again: and then, in dreaming,
The clouds methought would open, and show riches
Ready to drop upon me; that, when I waked,
I cried to dream again.”
William Shakespeare, The Tempest
