I want to delete my last post

I want to delete my last post:

taylororci:

I went to an improv show last night and mostly hung on the back line because it still feels like a bomb went off in my head. I tried to do a scene and then it went analogous to a kid getting molested (it was a fine scene, this wasn’t the issue) but in the scene I felt my face getting hot and I…

I wish my coworkers lived in my town so we could hang out. You all blew it by moving to the wrong city, dummies.

Is it weird that I don’t have a group of friends to do stuff with? If I did have a group would it be weird to call us the Odd Squad and embroider our group name on our satin jackets?…

Kristi-Boom you and your dog (and whomever) need to move HERE ‘cause that’s where most of us (and also the action) are(/is). If Kristi lived in LA, she could tell me where all the great music was and also let me know when I’m being a jerk. Life being what it is, I’ve just been listening to Goodbye Stranger on loop for 24 hours while being, sheesh, the biggest jerk.

I will never not love images of people who are clearly scheming. Making a scheme face right in front of people, like they won’t notice that you’re obviously about to scheme.

Hey Dan! I was wondering if your book will be available in Australian stores? I would check online but I wouldn't even know where to begin. I have been searching stores for yours, and the Cracked detextbook just in case they pop up somehow, but I haven't h

People have asked a bunch about when How to Fight Presidents will be available in various places. I’m embarrassed to admit how little I understand about how the world works. Like, does Amazon not ship to Australia, or are the shipping costs so prohibitive that it would be insane to even consider that?

At any rate, on the subject of what continents, countries and stores have books, the author probably has the least control out of everyone involved. I don’t know where in the world the book can be found, and it’s pretty likely that there are various international rights contracts that would need to be signed (maybe?).

I WISH I had that knowledge and control. I would love to be able to say “According to Cracked traffic information, we have a HUGE following in Queensland, so let’s make sure the book is available there. And I don’t care if How to Fight Presidents (and The De-Textbook, for that matter) is in every Barnes and Noble on the planet, but we SHOULD try to get them in as many college bookstores as we can, because college kids are the ones who will buy these books. And, hey, please don’t put my book in the History section, please, I am begging you.”

But I’m just the dumb monkey who wrote the thing, and I had the energy, time and know-how to write it because I spent years figuring out how to write instead of figuring out how to market, sell and build awareness for books. So I’m sure if I barged into a publishing house with my theories and gut instincts for what I thought should be done with the book, people in nice suits would say “Cute idea, kid, I’ll keep that in mind when I’m giving speeches later at Book Marketing University WHERE I FUCKING GOT TWO DEGREES IN BOOK-PLACEMENTOLOGY!”

At any rate, I have no idea when and if the book will be available in Australia, but that would be neat.

As a socially awkward woman, I'm very glad I'm not the only person who wasn't handed the rules for navigating social life, so, thank you for your articles on, well, social awkwardness. Also, I love your column in general, and videos, and I hope I can buy y

Thanks for the kind words. I promise to be always exactly as cool as I have been in the past. If your country won’t carry the book, let me know, I’ve got a few extra copies kicking around.
