Oh we’re super cool, a handshake is totally fine. In general, all normal, human interaction is obviously totally fine and I’d be some kind of huge asshole if I felt put-out by a handshake from a friendly person in a context where that sort of thing is socially acceptable.

I gotta ask because my girlfriend and I just noticed it in the 'How Avatar Will Actually Be Remembered Throughout History' video. But is Soren your usual choice for computer backgrounds or is that just a one-time thing?

Bro I’ve been changing the desktop on my computer in videos for seven years. If I know the desktop is going to be on the screen while I’m talking, I’m going to use that space for something stupid.

I've chosen to analyze some of your writings as an assignment for my AP English class. Is this a good idea in your opinion?

I don’t know, I once did a college essay about Weekend at Bernie’s. On the other end of that spectrum, I wrote twelve pages about a Dylan Thomas poem that was maybe six lines long. And I think they’re the same exact kind of pointless, ya know? They’re both probably bullshit and my bosses never asked to see them when they hired me so… nothing matters?

Hey Dan. I'm a big fan of After Hours. I was wondering why there wasn't a new episode last month? Isn't it a monthly thing? I'm sorry if you've answered this before and I just missed it. Thanks and you're awesome.

Good catch! We missed a month for the first time in, gosh, years I guess. We had an episode we were going to run (it was about Star Wars and written by Alex Schmidt), but one of the higher ups at Cracked wanted us to hold onto it and release in December instead (because that’s when the new Star Wars movie comes out and we assume it’ll be better for traffic if we do that). It was a last-minute decision, so there wasn’t enough time to write, shoot and edit a replacement episode, so we just went dark for a month. We’ll have a new episode about Back to the Future on 10/21 and then we’ll be back on track.

I’m really glad you didn’t yell “Dan!” You seem completely nice and normal and I have a job because you and people like you read my things and watch my videos, and MY first job was working at the concession stand of a movie theater so, hey, twinsies. BUT, I would have felt really uncomfortable if you’d yelled my name. I’m so happy this happened instead!
