I'm so glad you are enjoying the series! I'm planning to release Sandstorm at the end of March, but will settle on an official date soon. There will be one more book in the series after that, which I'm hoping to publish later this year. Thanks for the question!(less)

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for asking the question! I would have to answer the same way most authors do; reading is essential. Read, read, read, and while you're reading, study the structure of the books you love. Their dialogue and descriptions, and the way they build characters, conflict, relationships, and worlds. A story is really a patchwork quilt of everything you absorb from other books, movies, and experiences.

As writers, we have to look at the world in a different way. We have to observe every moment and picture it written on a page. And actually write some of those moments on the page. The more you write, the better you get.

So my advice is to read, observe, and most importantly, to write as often as possible, even if it's just a paragraph a day. I count myself blessed that I got an early start in my career, and I think it's SO cool that you're headed in that direction, too.

Again, thanks for the question, and good luck writing! :)(less)

Friday is finally here! Which means I don’t have to keep any more secrets!

So, without further ado, here is the synopsis:

Succumb to darkness? Or cling to the light?

Each of the five kingdoms has chosen a side, whether by choice or manipulation. Every day, the Piran queen’s power is growing, pushing the laws of magic until the prophecy seems like nothing more than an old man’s imaginings.

J.B. North Dear Readers,

I've been working on Daybreak for over seven months, and it's been an awesome experience. It's crazy how the characters take the story and turn it into something even better than I first anticipated.

That said, I've found I need a lot more time to get this final book out. Since it's the last, I'm wrapping up all the loose ends and making sure it's my best book yet.

Now that I'm further along in the book-building process, the soonest I can see publishing it is in Mid-December 2016. I'm so sorry for the delay, but I guarantee it will be totally worth it when you read the conclusion to Ivy's adventures! It's gonna be epic!

P.S. People who pre-ordered the book will not be charged. I’m not sure Daybreak will be available for pre-order again, but I’ll keep you guys posted.

Also, I'm not sure anyone will see this on Goodreads. You'd think an author would be more in tune with the best book site ever!
