S. Usher Evans is an author, blogger, and witty banter aficionado. Born in Pensacola, Florida, she left the sleepy town behind for the fast-paced world of Washington, D.C.. There, she somehow landed jobs with BBC, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic Television before finally settling into a "real job" as an IT consultant. After a quarter life crisis at age 27, she decided consulting was for the birds and rekindled a childhood passion for writing novels. She sold everything she owned and moved back to Pensacola, where she currently resides with her two dogs, Zoe and Mr. Biscuit.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you're interested in a complete series, Razia's going to be your best bet. With Book 4 coming out this month, you'll be able to get through nearly all of Lyssa's adventures in a few days. Book 5 is a prequel novella, just a little bit more behind Lyssa's origins.

If you're looking for a stand-alone, Empath is a great place to start, but I warn you, it can get a bit heavy. It's based on my own struggles with anxiety and depression after a bad break-up, so it touches on those issues.

If you want to get lost in an angsty romance, The Island, coming in April, is a fabulous story. It's available for preorder now, but it should be showing up on NetGalley in March!

How The Veil Came to Be – Writing a Book In a Month

With The City of Veils releasing next week, I thought it might be fun to revisit how this series came to be, and how much fun (or lack there of) I had writing it.

City of Veils – I blinked and there was Book

When I get inspired for a brand new book, it usually comes to me as a concept. For City of Veils, I was in Biloxi at a very boring show (I didn’t even make the $100 table fee back). I read...
