Tonya Patrice Jordan, a poet, a surgeon, and a true believer, is the eldest of three sisters. She was born in NJ; she has lived in CT, NC, NY, FL, TX, and GA. Her journey has been one full of amazing travels, laughter, and adventure. Tonya enjoys reading the classics and poetry, but nothing compares to the time she spends with her amazing niece, the energetic ball of fire better known as Zoella La Bella.

Tonya first heard the singing in her soul when she read Langston Hughes in college. It was the beginning of her love affair with the music found in poetry. It is what compels her to write. Knowing Sunshine (Poetry)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:37PM
Description: Knowing Sunshine is a collection of poems and one short story. It is a memoir, of sorts, presented in pieces. The book explores how a melancholic and alienated little girl matured into a woman who appreciates the limitless possibilities borne out of living life with joyful abandon. The short story, “Around Midnight”, depicts two women who connect with an inner power when they choose to see a future beyond the pain. Knowing Sunshine is a celebration of winning.
