Baxter

It’s Baxter’s turn today, mostly because he was the one who sat still long enough for a photo. Baxter is one of Xara’s litter born on 2nd July, and is Russian dove.

Asha

I’ve missed the daily photos for a couple of days, but it’s time to get going again. This is Asha, one of Xia’s doe kittens born on 1st of July, and she’s Russian blue agouti Essex.

Rat Show

We had a fantastic show day yesterday in Brum. Xia, mum of one of the litters, won Best In Show, one of her kittens won Best Opposite Age for a friend of ours, and my daughter’s kitten Serenity came in fourth. Xia’s mother Verity also won the agility competition.

Zebedee

Today’s photo is Lovecraft Zebedee, Zachary’s brother. It was perhaps a mistake to give him that name – he seems to feel the need to live up to it. He drove me potty trying to get this photo as every time I pointed the camera at him he ran towards it.

Zachary

Here’s Lovecraft Zachary, born on 3rd June so he’s 4 months old tomorrow. Zac is agouti dumbo, and is a very happy and friendly little soul.

The final chapter

Well, not actually the final chapter of my book, but I think the one that will be finished last. We’re off to the Midlands Rat Club cup show on Saturday, which I hope will provide the photographs for an ‘At the show’ chapter to finish off ‘The Rat’s Whiskers‘.

Ypsilon

This is Ypsilon, aka Ypsie, the only girl in my ‘Y’ litter. She is Russian blue Essex and was born on 23rd November, so she is ten months old. She’s a speedy girl, into everything, and has still not managed to crack the 400 gram mark so she’s the smallest doe in her cage group.

Xandy

Here’s . She’s Russian dove agouti, which shows in the New Varieties class. She would have been a mum in place of Xara but she fell off a triple Explorer and then had a seizure, which made me think twice about mating her. She had another seizure a day later, but has been fine since then and is a gorgeous and friendly little lady.

Xuzy

I almost forgot today’s pic. This is Xuzy, she was due to have a litter with her two sisters, but reabsorbed instead. Unfortunately she’s holding on to the weight, but she seems completely well despite that.xuzy2
