I live on a small farm in Ohio where I tend a shabby garden, take care of my crazy horses and chickens and enjoy writing. Check out my website: www.katemorrisauthor.com for recipes from the book, my blog, articles and information about books two and three. Book Two out now.

I am the author of the new trilogy, The McClane Apocalypse. Books one and two are out now. Check them out on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or iBooks.

The McClane Apocalypse, Book One of the series. Follow the McClane family as they struggle to survive on their TN farm. Romantic suspense filled with hot Army Rangers and a broken and beautifully flawed female protagonist. Don't read chapter two if you need to be anywhere any time soon!

This gives you fresh eyes. Perhaps the last thing you wrote where you got hung up isn't where the story needs to go. Go back to the previous chapter and pick it up in a different direction. Let it "tell" you what to do and where to go with it! Always refer back to your outline, too. This will also help. I write an outline with paper and pen, the old-fashioned way. I can flip to it easily and I always leave a lot of room to make additions in between spaces. Hope this helps.(less)

“Life has a way of doing that. It moves forward with or without a person and whether or not they are ready and have given it permission.”

“For the lions who went out in defense of our freedom and never came back, I dedicate this McClane to you. Thank you for your selfless sacrifice and my freedom.”
Kate Morris, The McClane Apocalypse Book 5

“Reagan remembers so many people in their country turning against firearms and the strict gun laws that had passed over the years, even though everyone had said it could never happen. Her grandfather had always been dead set against any and all gun legislation, although many of his friends had not agreed with him. Now Reagan’s quite sure that all of the unarmed people in the country were wishing they hadn’t been so yielding to the wishes and demands”
