Carie Juettner is a teacher and writer in Austin, Texas. She teaches 7th grade English and writes poems, short stories, and middle grade novels. Her work has appeared in the Texas Poetry Calendar, Best Austin Poetry, Nature Futures, Daily Science Fiction, and Hello Horror, among other publications. When she's not teaching or writing or grading papers, she's usually walking her dog, reading with her cats, or beating her husband at Exploding Kittens. (Relax, it's a card game.) She likes coffee, tarantulas, and accidental puns. To learn more about Carie, visit her blog.

More of Carie's books…
Naomi Shihab Nye
“I love the solitude of reading. I love the deep dive into someone else's story, the delicious ache of a last page.”
Naomi Shihab Nye

Ray Bradbury
“You must write every single day of your life... You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads... may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.”
Ray Bradbury

Ray Bradbury
“We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?”
Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

Terry Pratchett
“The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.”
Terry Pratchett, Diggers

Terry Pratchett
“Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.”
Terry Pratchett, Jingo
