A.S Bond is an internationally acclaimed travel writer and journalist. As the author of seven books, AS’s own adventures have taken her around the world, from the cloud forests of Central America to D.C.’s corridors of power. A.S Bond is a pen name.

Praise for AS Bond’s earlier books (written as Alexandra Pratt):

"I have known a few wonderful-crazy, damn-fool writers who would risk their lives for a great adventure story, but I have met only two - both husky, well-experienced outdoorsmen - who would have paddled a canoe into the Labrador wilds. And one of them is dead. Alexandra Pratt is so reckless she scares me and so entrancing that I could not put her book down." Ken McGoogan, author of Fatal Passage

It's just that some days are 'writing' days and others aren't. Usually I know this long before I get to the keyboard, because I'm tired, stressed, or have something else more pressing on my mind (I'm also a journalist by profession). When this is the case, I don't even attempt to write and focus on doing something else instead.

However, sometimes I'm just procrasinating and that's when I make myself sit down and start work. Usually, after a few minutes, I'm into it. Getting past the 'friction' of life is the hard part.

Sometimes I'm full of ideas when I least expect it; the middle of the night, or, more often, when I'm on holiday. I've noticed that the more relaxed I am - the more I'm able to just let my mind wander - the more likely I am to be full of ideas and I find I'm putting together sentences and phrases in my mind. Most of my trips are characterised by scribbled notes on the back of plane tickets, brochures or anything I can get my hands on, which I then have to try and decipher. Usually, I try and dash to a keyboard (if I can find one. I like wilderness travel!). Otherwise, I have to wade through a pile of grimy, illegible pieces of paper when I get home.(less)

It's a full-length adventure thriller, like Patriot, in more unusual locations, with plenty of action and suspense! New thriller due later this year

I'm currently working on my third novel in the Brooke Kinley Adventures series, which will be out later this year (2017). Like Patriot, the bestselling first title in the series, it will be a full-length adventure thriller set in more unusual locations, with plenty of action and suspense! Cover reveals and previews to follow for anyone who signs up to my mailing list at www.brookekinleyadventures. Read more of this blog post »

“Thus was this expedition finished, when it had lasted 3 years and 9 months after having, by its event, strongly evinced this important truth: That thought prudence, intrepidity and perseverance united are not exempted from the blows of adverse fortune, in a long series of transactions they usually rise superior to its power and in the end rarely fail of proving successful."
