One is a blog project with my friend Brie called Quotidian Project, in which we each write blog posts back and forth every week day (minus holidays, as decided by us) for an entire year. That blog is hosted over at (Quotidianproject.)Wordpress(.com). I also have a personal blog (theonlykathytrithardt.wordpress.com) on which I put select pieces of writing - prose, poetry and commentary.
As per a recent entry on the Quotidian Project, I am also working on a book written in Second Person. I am kicking around other ideas, but am not actively working on much else, as I do have a day job.(less)

I had a 12 hour panic attack. No one knew.

Not too long ago, I had a pretty terrible day.

You probably wouldn’t know it if you were one of the several people I interacted with that day. There was friendship and laughter and other events that I won’t name, as I don’t want the day to be widely recognizable. If you think you were there on this day, feel free to message me privately to ask and I will answer as honestly as I can.

You see, on t...

“Disquite Sonnet
I wish that I could find the words to tell
You were it hurts; nothing breaking my skin
Slices whispering in my brain like hell
Leaking suggestions of a morose grin
Cannot collect my thoughts long enough to
Share them in an understandable way
So I lock my lips firmly and walk through
Life, searching for the perfect words to say
Trapped in my head, I seek to be let out
Grasping connections with those who might know
What it feels like, alone in a crowd, doubt
Filling my body with reasons to go
Face to face, I might not find the right phrase
But I hope someone hears me anyway”
Kathy Trithardt

“because nerds like us are allowed to be unironically enthusiastic about stuff. Nerds are allowed to love stuff, like jump-up-and-down-in-the-chair-can’t-control-yourself love it. Hank, when people call people nerds, mostly what they’re saying is ‘you like stuff.’ Which is just not a good insult at all. Like, ‘you are too enthusiastic about the miracle of human consciousness’.”
John Green

“It is true that those we meet can change us, sometimes so profoundly that we are not the same afterwards, even unto our names.”
Yann Martel, Life of Pi

“Her underwear, her jeans, the comforter, my corduroys and my boxers between us, I thought. Five layers, and yet I felt it, the nervous warmth of touching – a pale reflection of the fireworks of one mouth on another, but a reflection nonetheless. And in the almostness of the moment, I cared at least enough. I wasn’t sure whether I liked her, and doubted whether I could trust her, but I cared at least enough to try to find out. Her on my bed, wide green eyes staring down at me. The enduring mystery of her sly, almost smirking, smile. Five layers between us.”
John Green

“A writer is one who communicates ideas and emotions people want to communicate but aren't quite sure how, or even if, they should communicate them.”
Criss Jami, Killosophy
