Connie and I are planning a short getaway to Savannah, Georgia, in the next few weeks. We’ll leave on a Wednesday morning (it’s a six-hour drive) and return on Saturday – so, basically, 2-3 days in the city. I’ll probably write about the trip for my upcoming book – but I also want to include it in another, future book that I’m already planning for 2019 or 2020: More Thrilling Cities.

There’s the...

Ray Wes,

The package has arrived, the eagle has landed, the proof is in the pudding, the rain in Spain.

Our thanks.

Ray Wes Mullen is one traveling man. From the time he was 16 he developed a love for the allure of the road and has been hitting it ever since.
His first European adventure took him to Rome (a trip he enjoyed so much that he's returned twice), and he's hit most of the great cities on the continent: Paris, Munich, Barcelona, Venice, Innsbruck, Toledo.
In the British Isles, he's laid his head in hotels and B&Bs in London, Edinburgh and Cambridge. Lesser-known, but no less enjoyable sorties have landed him in Porto San Giorgio, Caracas, Cordoba, Granada, Alicante and Ostio Lido.
Mullen's travel tome gives readers a two-fold perspective on the places visited, where he offers an insightful and informative history and heritage of the destination, and then serves up engaging, witty and descriptive takes on his personal views of those places and his time there.
He's been trekking hither and yon for more than 40 years, and it doesn't appear that he's planning on slowing down anytime soon.
A reader can live vicariously through Mullen's adventures and escapades, but if he's looking for a traveling companion, I would gladly go along for the ride.
