Homi Jahangir Bhabha, FRS (Hindi: होमी जहाँगीर भाभा) was a nuclear physicist and professor of physics. Colloquially known as "father of Indian nuclear programme", Bhabha was the founding director of two well-known research institutions: the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), and the Trombay Atomic Energy Establishment, later renamed the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Both sites served as cornerstones of Indian development of nuclear weapons.
