Irma Thälmann

Former Eastern-German politician and daughter of the communist leader Ernst Thälmann.

Irma was a member of the Communist Youth ( KVJD ) she was incarcerated in KZ Ravensbrück.

In 1946 she joined the SED and worked at the ministry of heavy machinery construction.

After the fall of the GDR, she joined the PDS. But left the party in 1990 for their views on her father. She joined the re-established Communist Party for which she was a direct candidate for the federal elections in the district of Berlin-Lichtenberg.
