A.H. Feral was born in Hackney, East London and has, until recently, lived most of his life in the East End and Essex.

Having had the ambition to write for many years, it is only very recently that he embarked upon his literary journey - his motivation kick-started by the completion of a Creative Writing course with the Open University.

The main inspiration to write came from his early days of reading the works of Thomas Wolfe, Jack Kerouac, Dylan Thomas, and other (mainly American and French) modern classic writers of the twentieth century. However, latterly his reading time has been taken up by the detective genre writing of those such as Alexander McCall Smith, Andrea Camilleri and HRF Keating. I try to fill that time doing anything else I enjoy, walking the dogs, a drive out somewhere, or just stuff around the house I have to do. What I don't do is sit at my desk trying to force it, because if it doesn't flow naturally it probably won't be good enough.(less)

Everyone has had a dream that they've woken up from wishing they could close their eyes, go back to sleep, and return to. But with a fair amount of confidence I would say that nobody ever has. When you write, you can dream, stop, then return as many times as you wish.(less)
