My husband, David, and I are very excited about our memoir Going Gypsy: One Couple's Adventure from Empty Nest to No Nest at All! GoingGypsyBook.com - now available wherever books are sold.

Upon sending our youngest out into the big, wide world, we set out to break the empty nest rules by selling everything and hitting the road. To become more than empty nesters, to be gypsies, GypsyNesters!

Along the way, we rediscovered the couple who fell in love years ago. We've been full-time travelers since 2008.

The easy answer is that social media is social - we really appreciate every comment, question, and share we receive - and we make sure that we show that appreciation. It's also very important to be authentic. Don't try to copy what other folks are doing - be yourself.

The longer version is here (I found that I was being asked about this often enough that we wrote a post): http://www.gypsynester.com/travel-blo...

Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions - just ask!

“The kids have grown into full-sized Homo sapiens fully capable of feeding themselves. The time had come to let them do their own hunting and gathering. When they get hungry enough, they will find food. But they have to learn to do it for themselves. Otherwise, they’ll end up like zoo animals. When tigers get fed every day, they never learn to hunt. If they’re released into the wild, they starve.”

Veronica James Hellooooo Nashville! We'll be appearing at the Southern Festival of Books on October 10! Get all the details here: http://www.gypsynester.com/so-fest-bo...

We (and our book, Going Gypsy) have been accepted into one of our favorite book events - The Southern Festival of Books in Nashville!

Humanities Tennessee has been throwing this great event for twenty-seven years, and its popularity has inspired hundreds of similar book festivals.

Because of their dedication to the written word, the festival is free to all who want to celebrate the joy of reading!

Join us and two hundred of the nation's most prominent authors for three days of fun, interaction, and -- because it's Nashville -- music!

Veronica James I'd love to see you in Charleston on October 3rd! Click for more info: http://www.gypsynester.com/charleston...

Three accomplished women, Veronica James, Sharon Becker, and Jennet Robinson Alterman will talk about life’s transitions, self-direction, choosing to be happy, and the right to stop trying to be “Wonder Woman.”

Meet and mingle with like-minded women at this special event to experience a day of connection, learning and inspiration.

Morning refreshments and a gourmet lunch will be served
